March 6, 2010

Last March 5 was one hell of a night. First, there was the JPIA Culminating Night which was held in Metrobar, West Avenue. Aside from that, there was the Economics Society adhoc, Tranced, which I attended with friends.

So on March 6, I had to wake up really early for my 9am class. When I got up, I really had this weird feeling, my head was sort of spinning and I just felt like I was floating. I felt like trash and went to school looking like trash. x_x I got there just in time but was really sleepy. I got a few tidbits of the lessons tackled but most of the session was just a blur to me. I remember something about enterprise applications, how they are tailored to suit the needs of specific companies. I think I remember this because some applications take so long to implement, with some even taking years. I think this is one of the main reasons why implementing such applications produce negative results. For example, if a specific application takes more than a year to implement, a lot can happen within that span of time. The company may incur a lot of expenses but revenues stay the same since the program is not yet fully implemented and therefore cannot be used yet. But of course, if successful, I do recognize that such applications can yield results that will increase profitability greatly. I know for a fact that accounting programs make it easier to account for all the operations of the company with regards to money. They reduce the amount of personnel needed and makes things more convenient for the accountants as well. Since programs like excel are so generic and cannot accommodate all that is needed for accounting, it is indeed better to have a customized application that is fitted for accounting purposes only.

Aside from this, I remember a video or application being showed regarding applications that make things easier for the consumer. For example, returning merchandise or ordering them. I remember how transactions over the internet were discussed. Indeed, if everything was made easy for the consumer, they would patronize such products more.

This is all I can remember x_o I'm sorry sir. LOL! I will make sure that I will remember things more next time. HAHA! But I learned a lot in last time's session, I just can't remember what they are. Perhaps, refresh my memory? :D
